Ankara Housing Ltd. Co. founded in 1953 united with Türkiye Construction Materials Ltd. Co. (TİMLO) in 1987 and was named Türkiye Emlak Bankası INC.bağlı Ortaklığı Insaat ve İmar Inc. After Turkish Emlak Bank Inc. subsidiary Insaat ve İmar INC. and affiliate Emlak Yapı INC were terminated on the date of 26.12.1990 upon resolution of the parliament, Emlak Konut INC. was founded. Emlak Konut INC. became Emlak Konut Gayrimenkul Yatırım Ortaklığı INC. on the date of 29.07.2002. It was named Emlak Gayrimenkul Yatırım Ortaklığı INC.

EMLAK KONUT REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT TRUST INC. has produced residential and commercial projects in many locations of Turkey since it has been founded (Ataköy and Sarı Konaklar in Istanbul, Or-An and Elvankent Projects in Ankara and others) and has provided engineering, consultancy and supervision services in many large volume projects.

the residence support accounts (KEY) published in the Official Bulletin dated 29.12.1999 No 23921 commenced the process of transformation into Real Estate Investment Partnership (GYO) upon transfer of the real estate under property of Emlak Bankası INC. as material capital in accordance with the protocol signed between Türkiye Emlak Bankası INC. and Emlak REIT INC.

Upon effect of the Act No 4603 and within scope of restructuring of the main enterprise Türkiye Emlak Bankası INC., the Articles of Association of EMLAK KONUT REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT TRUST INC. was modified in the extraordinary General Assembly dated 19.03.2001 and the juridical personality became subject to Special Law Provisions. Foundation capital of Emlak Konut REIT INC was 370 billion in 1990. Emlak Konut is the largest Real Estate Investment Partnership in Turkey as of today.

Emlak Konut, accelerating own projecting works based on target of TOKİ, the parent entity, of 500 thousand residences in the following period, aims to reach a total of 50 thousand residences.  Emlak Konut’s some of main criteria are that the residence projects developed or to be developed shall have a certain architectural concept and life standard, moving own class quality standards one step further and being financially accessible.
