EMLAK KONUT GYO A protocol has been signed between Emlak Konut GYO and Tariş Cooperatives Union for Izmir Alsancak project

 

 

 

With the protocol signed between Turkey’s largest real estate investment compony Emlak Konut GYO and Tariş Cooperatives Union on December 1, 2016, Emlak Konut GYO will develop a new project in Izmir Alsancak in the area known as Liman Arkası.

The project in Izmir Liman Arkası area, which is 140 thousand square meters in total, is designed in a tourism, trade and culture oriented fashion. With the project which estimates nearly 820 million TL revenue, the aim is to regain this inactive part of Izmir for the city’s use, to create physically and visually health spaces and to increase the urban living standards of the city.

At the signing ceremony, Emlak Konut GYO Chairman of the Executive Board and Emlak Konut GYO General Manager Murat Kurum, together with Tariş Olive and Olive Oil Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union President Hüseyin Cahit Çetin, Tariş Figs Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union President Mustafa Bircan, Tariş Cotton and Oil Seeds Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union Vice President Faruk Aydın, and Yenta Inc. Chairman of the Executive Board Gültekin Uzbek were present.

 

The historical signing that will shape Izmir’s city life

Emlak Konut GYO General Manager Murat Kurum expressed his thoughts on the project at the protocol ceremony: “Today we are signing with Tariş Cooperatives Union for this historical project which will shape Izmir’s city life. We set off for a project that will add to the beauty of Izmir, one of the most valuable cities of our country. As you all know, Mavişehir region has started to be designed by Emlak Bank in the 90’s. As Emlak Konut GYO, by investing in this region from the 2000s and we started to create modern living areas with increased living standards”.

We successfully completed projects such as Soyak Mavişehir”, Emlak Konut Pelikan Sitesi”, Mavişehir Modern” andParkYaşam Mavişehir” which add up nearly to 1.2 million TL project value. Nearly 4.000 independent segments have been granted to the right owners. In the projects we develop in Mavişehir region, every sort of social equipment areas are implemented together with nearly 80% park and green areas. From that point of view, Izmir became a city of successful projects for Emlak Konut.

Following the projects we developed in Mavişehir, with the project we will implement at Izmir’s new city center Alsancak, as Emlak Konut GYO we will once again meet with inhabitants of  Izmir and we will be happy to put the Emlak Konut GYO Brand into service for Izmir. On this opportunity we are stepping into another new important project in Izmir by making a contract with the Tariş Cooperatives Union and Yemta which represent not only Izmir but also the Aegean region with nearly 150 thousand members.

Stating that they are developing a project on 140 thousand square meters area in the area know as Izmir Liman Arkası, which is planed to be the new city center, Murat Kurum said: “We plan to develop this old and out of use area by meeting its social, cultural and technical needs. We aimed this tourism, trade and culture oriented project to provide important contributions to our Izmir’s economical dynamics, tourism potential and cultural activities. The real winner of re-functioning of this area in a tourism, trade and culture oriented fashion will be Izmir. According to the contract we made together, the minimum revenue from this project is 820 million TL, and 20% of this amount will be the share of Emlak Konut and 80% will be the share of the Unions”.

A project sharing the value of this land again with this land

Giving a speech at the signing ceremony, Tariş Olive and Olive Oil Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union President Cahit Metin, expressing the current project is one of the most important social projects of the country said that the 100 years of savings of the producers reached  out to this day by increasing its economic value. Noting that Tariş adds to the economy what its producing partners produce in the soil, said: “Our farmer partners came to this day with the value they add to agricultural, agricultural industry and employment. With this project we maintain our support for these values and also for our farmers and for our economy in different areas by diversifying it. I wish this project which shares the value of this land again with this land will bring fortune for all of us”.

Tariş Figs Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union President Mustafa Bircan, referring to the importance of the gains of this project for the regional economy, stated in his speech that they are working for increasing the recompense for the fig producers work. Addressing that they have Europe’s largest fig processing plant, Bircan stated that the country economy will also benefit form the revenue of the project as well as the region.

Tariş Cotton and Oil Seeds Agricultural Sales Cooperations Union Vice President Faruk Aydın, referring that the Union was established prior to the Republic in 1915, stated that it serves to its farmers and its country. Aydın said: “Tariş succeeded to become an important brand in its country by its production. Today it stands among the special cooperatives not only in Turkey but also in Europe. We consider this project at utmost importance for our farmers to become stronger. We find it very valuable for creation the financial sources needed for increasing our producers’ export, and we thank all of the contributors of the project.”

42% of the project will be social equipment area

With the project that will be implemented in Izmir’s Liman Arkası area, this area which stayed out of use of the city life will be regained for the city. The urban development and population dynamics of the area along with regional conditions and needs were taken into account with this project that will contribute to the New City Center formations with this development. Within this scope, to create a balanced, healthy and sustainable urban space, 42% of the project is being organized as social equipment areas to contribute to the public.
